Gingko biloba
A bit of research will reveal one herb that seems to lead the pack
when it comes to keeping a person's ability to remember at its highest
level. That herb is Gingko biloba. The reason that it's thought
to have such a significant impact on memory function is that it
helps with the flow of blood throughout the body. This of course
includes the flow of blood to the brain. Blood contains oxygen and
having a steady and constant flow of blood keeps the memory sharp.
There are numerous different brand names that proclaim to be the
best source of Gingko biloba, therefore it's up to you to decide
which one is best suited for your needs.

* Ginkgo seeds have been used in traditional Chinese
medicine for thousands of years, and cooked seeds are occasionally
eaten. More recently, ginkgo leaf extract has been used to treat a
variety of ailments and conditions, including asthma, bronchitis,
fatigue, and tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
* Today, people use ginkgo leaf extracts hoping to improve memory;
to treat or help prevent Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia;
to decrease intermittent claudication (leg pain caused by narrowing
arteries); and to treat sexual dysfunction, multiple sclerosis, tinnitus,
and other health conditions.
How It Is Used
Extracts are usually taken from the ginkgo leaf and are used to make
tablets, capsules, or teas. Occasionally, ginkgo extracts are used
in skin products. |
